As I get older one of the things I’m more conscious about is sun safety. Luckily, I haven’t had a scare with it I just am more aware. You see, I spent countless hours in tanning beds as a teen before prom and spend my summers at my parent’s pool. The sun not only can give us skin cancer but also, wrinkles and dark spots and I’m trying to remain looking as youthful as possible now that I’m over 30! Here are some ways I stay safe in the sun:
- Cabana Life– I’ve worn their clothing and swim for years and even interviewed the founder Melissa on my podcast. Their clothes are super cute but also UPF 50+ to keep you safe
- Hats- If I’m outside for an extended time (by the pool, gardening, etc.) I always have a hat now with a big brim to keep my face covered. Lisi Lerch, Dress for Cocktails and Sarah Bray Bermuda make some of my favorites.
- Sunscreen– a no brainer but I try and apply sunscreen especially on my face for outdoor activities to keep the dark spots, wrinkles and cancer away
- Umbrella– there are so many cute umbrellas on the market these days and they are a must for outdoor entertaining to keep everyone cool and safe from the sun
