After all the Camp Preppy content I’ve shared on social media I’ve received lots of requests for more details, links and information so I figured I’d share more in depth details here on the blog, breaking down each activity.
Camp Preppy kicked off on a Sunday evening at The Red Lion Inn in the Lion’s Court with a welcome party that was Gilligan’s Island themed. I don’t remember exactly when or how I came up the idea but I loved the idea of one last summer hurrah for it. Think preppy red gingham mixed with tropical, beachy elements. It’s preppy and a little camp/survival -esque, basically perfect! Hattie Hill Designs interpreted the theme perfectly with the paper design elements.
Campers were coming from all over the country and various ages so this welcome party really set the tone. Everyone really did an amazing job dressing for the theme and interrupting it in their own. Plus, when they got to the party they got to pick a Lele Sadoughi headband, Sunshine Tienda wrap and a Taylor Reese fish bracelet. It was important to me when I was planning to ensure campers would receive at least one little surprise treat each day or each activity. I wanted to spoil them!
We sipped beverages, ate pigs in a blanket, spring rolls and had a fabulous charcuterie board. It all set the tone for the next few days ahead.
