Are you guys ready for my first ever Wedding Wednesday update? As promised, every Wednesday leading up to my big day I’ll give you an update on where I am with planning and what’s next. While these pictures have nothing to do with the location, I thought it was fitting with the cute Love tote and may give a hint to something I’m working on a little further down the line.
So last week we picked out date and venue! We will be getting married at an old estate in Delaware. Just a short 20 minutes from where we live and I grew up. I was drawn to the beautiful classic design within the venue, total Bridgerton vibes with touches of chinoiserie and each room a beautiful new shade of color. Plus, the garden outside is perfect for our ceremony (fingers crossed no rain). It was the first (and one of the few) place we toured but I had a feeling even before we visited that it would be perfect.
Will personally liked that they have a connection with The Hotel Dupont which is where our out of town guests and us will stay. It’s a beautiful hotel with restaurants, a salon by Currie (which you know I love) and just a great place for our guests to make home base since 70% will be coming out of town. Oh and my Aunt Nicole and Uncle Chris got married there!
As for the date? September 17, 2022. Soon I know but many other venues weren’t open until 2024 and we didn’t want to wait that long for fear many of our friends would be pregnant or with young kids by then and we want everyone to have FUN! Plus, 17 is my lucky number. We got engaged on 12/17 and my birthday is 1/17. Will can’t forget our anniversary then right? 😉
So what else is booked? Our major vendors. I worked like a mad woman since we only have a few short months. I booked Greg of Untouchables Entertainment Group for our DJ. I felt comfortable using Greg since I’ve worked with him for my old Main Line Fashion Week events. He’s super accommodating and I know we work well together.
Photographer is one of the most important parts of your special day so I wanted to make sure to work with a photographer I love. I was thrilled when one of my favorite photographers I’ve worked with Always Avery was free on our date. It was meant to be. I know she will create the light, bright, romantic images I like. I’m so excited to see how she captures our special day.
Next up? Lots more details to fill in but more exciting is I’m going dress shopping with my mom tonight! I’m so excited!
