I look so glam! 😉
I’m so excited to take the plunge and be linking up with The One Room Challenge. I’ve followed along each season as other bloggers have taken the challenge, designing a room in just 6 weeks and sharing the progress every Wednesday with weekly updates on the blog.
As you’ve probably guessed, I’ll be working on the #PatriciasPartyPad loft space above the new garage. The roof is in its final stages so I can officially start working on the space. But boy am I in for a real challenge. You see, while most of the bloggers are essentially redecorating their spaces, I am BUILDING a space AND decorating it in 6 short weeks. Fingers crossed!
So here’s where I’m currently at… electric is in and roof is just about finished. This week I worked on cutting and putting in the insulation along the ceiling and walls. Instead of the usual fiberglass type, we opted for a thick insulation board. It’s sorta like those foam coolers but really thick. Will may or may not have accidentally been electrocuted when we tried to cut it with an electric knife and the motor burned out. Oops. Don’t worry, he’s okay!
I also started looking for a sofa for the space. I’m looking for a navy or emerald velvet one and found one at the West Elm outlet that I might actually go back for if I don’t end up with this one from Society Social. An order has been placed for this luxe little side table from Taylor Burke Home. I love the texture on the leather! It’s part of their sample sale for a total steal and available in some other colors.
Lastly, I ordered pillows from Cotton & Quill. I saw their Hunt collection months ago on an Instagram sneak peek and knew I had to work it into the design. The preppy equine prints were one of my main inspirations which you may remember from this post.
So do you think I can get it done in 6 weeks? Are you participating in The ORC? If so please put your link in the comments below so I can follow along!
What a project! I have faith in you. 😀 It sounds like we have something in common. We both like a good challenge.

I can’t wait to see what your dining room looks like. Such good bones in there and that chandelier is stunning!!
Love this! Building stuff and not just do the new-pillows-thing. Which is also nice but this= my kind of Fun. Adding a bookmark to make sure to follow you through the weeks!
Best of luck! Love the sofa by the way.
Thanks so much! Can’t wait to share the gallery wall, rug and more next week. I’m glad I’m not the only one who likes to take on a challenge and build stuff.
