If you’re new around here you may not know but I own Piqued PR. A boutique PR firm where I work with the best businesses and brands. I truly love what I do but no day is the same. I’m with clients for meetings, on a call to discuss brand opportunities with other businesses, running events and lately jet setting quite often. It’s a little hectic to say the least as I’m always on the go! I thought I’d share some tips with how I stay organized (and sane) as some of you may benefit from them too!
1- Apple Watch- I was late to the game on this one, I’m not a “watch person” I own one nice watch that my parents got me for my 18th birthday but truthfully I’ve only worn it a handful of times. So naturally I thought I’d never wear the Apple Watch. Boy was I wrong. It’s like having my phone on me 24-7. I never miss a call now and it’s made me go from a paper planner to a digital one!
2- MileIQ- this app my bestie Ally (another entrepreneur) told me about. Basically it runs in the background of your phone tracking where you travel to and from. It makes meeting with the accountant SO much easier and is a pretty cheap app.
3- Piqued PR Social Media planner– okay total plug here but if you have a blog, a business or run other people’s social media than this planner is so helpful! I created based on my needs to stay organized and plan the bigger picture in marketing.
4- Lists- this sounds like a no brainer but I make a written list for everything. I add everything to it throughout the day and love the satisfaction of physically crossing things off it as I accomplish them! Giddy Paperie has really cute ones like this.
5- Transitional clothes- My wardrobe is built on trendy nice jeans mixed with blazers and sweaters finished with pretty but practical shoes and topped off with jewelry. This allows me to be comfy working at my desk but look pulled together when I run out for meetings or events. These Eastland Driving Mocs are a recent go to, they are so comfy I can spend hours in them but the metallic gold dresses them up. They’d be adorable for the holidays with some tartan too!
6- A Carry EVERYTHING Bag- I’m that girl who never has a small purse and if I do it’s inside a large one earlier in the day. I typically carry my laptop, notepad, extra jewelry (because I’m always representing my clients!), a Swell bottle, a snack and often times a dog leash or toy for Marty & Miles… I need a bag big enough to carry it all so I’m never without anything.
Now it’s your turn! Let me know how you stay organized on the go!
