Newport Travel Guide

After my second visit to Newport I thought I’d put together a mini travel guide and share some of my favorite spots.

Getting There:

What I love most is the fact that you can get there by train from Philly, my favorite way to travel so I can sit back, relax (well, and work). If you take the train you can get off at Providence or Kingston. I usually do Kingston as it is closer and a smaller, easy to navigate station. Ubers are a little hard to get in the off season so I suggest ordering a car service ahead. I used TJ Transportation and had a good experience with them.

Where to Stay:

Hotel Viking– I’ve stayed here for both of my stays and I love how centrally located it is. You can walk to the wharf, Tennis Hall of Fame and so many great restaurants. They recently redid their lobby and pool, which are both beautiful! Rooms are small but nice.

Where to Shop:

CK Bradley– such fun, vibrant prints with a slight retro flair.

Gingy’s– they are originally based in Malvern, PA so I was excited to see their other store! They carry my favorite designers like Sail to Sable and have their own line too.

KJP– you can’t go to Newport without visiting the OG Preppy Blogger’s store.

Monelle– this boutique carries great brands and unique finds, think fun block prints and more.

Tyler Boe– I love their feminine, yet classic styles.

Sara Campbell– a client of mine whose boutique is curated perfectly with her own collection and fun accessories.

Where to Eat:

Pasta Beach– I ALWAYS visit while I’m in town. Yummy pasta and pizza and just a cool vibe.

White Horse Tavern– America’s oldest tavern. Dark, moody and yummy tavern food.

Diego’s– if you’re craving Mexican head here! On the wharf so great food and views.

The Black Pearl– I’ve been told here’s where you go for the best chowder in Newport but I opted for the chili which was delicious.

What to See:

Tennis Hall of Fame– like stepping back in time. Even if you don’t play tennis you can appreciate the history

Burgundy Print

I shared this on my Instagram stories the other day but I am loving burgundy this season. It’s such a pretty, rich fall hue and works great on brunettes. I think 70% of what I bought for fall is this pretty color. While these corduroy
