Its finally here! I think I started the process of redesigning our guest room the end of last spring and almost a year later it’s finally done. The guest room used to be mimosa yellow with pops of pink. I loved the color combo but was trying to make it slightly more masculine now that Will lives here and flower better with the rest of the house. I also needed to upgrade the twin bed for a queen because let’s face it, no one likes sleeping in a twin over the age of 10!
The inspiration for the design all sprung from this gorgeous Taylor Burke Home headboard with Brooke Wright Designs fabulous pineapple fabric. I wanted it to be playful so decided to bring in a few other patterns, especially this Katie Kime buffalo check. I obviously love a good monogram so this Southern Linen bedding was a no brainer, I love how large their monograms are.
Quirky is my thing, something that makes you smile because it’s unexpected like the art I put in here. I used two from Gray Malin as he is my favorite photographer artist and then this cute little bird by my girl Daisy Faith. Then let’s talk about the lamps by Jayes Studio! I saw them while in Atlanta at AmericasMart in January and knew I had to have them. I love their shape and they have great height.
Last but certainly not least, these window treatments! I saw something similar on Pinterest and had them recreated by my go-to Saxton Nicol Studios. I think they finish off the room perfectly and am a firm believer that custom window treatments are always worth the money.
I still may paint the dresser green but for now I’m happy with it! What do you think?
