A few weeks ago I was asked by the Philly Home Show to create an easy craft for a group of show goers. I’m actually not that arts and craftsy when it comes down to it. yes, I can paint a piece of furniture or DIY a centerpieces but hand me some glue and scissors and I am lost. So if you don’t fancy yourself a DIYer, don’t worry this craft is super easy. I’m sharing 3 ways to make your own napkin rings, because napkin rings add up quickly when you need 4+ of them.
Rope Napkin Ring
- Wood Curtain Rings
- Jute Twin
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
- Start by putting a dot of hot glue on your starting place somewhere on the ring. Try not to put too much on as then the twin won’t rest flat on it
- Wrap the twin tightly around the wood ring, pushing each rotation tightly against the last.
- Once you meet where you started then cut the twine and seal with your hot glue so it is secure and doesn’t frey.
Animal Napkin Ring
- Miniature Toy Plastic Animals
- Hot Glue Gun
- Spray Paint
- Wood Curtain Rings
- Start by spray paining the wood curtain ring and plastic animal. I do this separately ahead as its hard to get in between the little parts once glued.
- Hot glue the animal to the painted ring.
- Spray paint the glue and any other parts you may have missed or are in need of a second coat.
Tassel Napkin Ring
- Miniture Pre-Made Tassels
- Wood Curtain Rings
- Spray Paint
- This is the easiest one yet. You simply spray paint the curtain rings a desired color, although the natural look may be cool for a boho vibe.
- Loop the tassel onto the ring.
See they are so easy, cheap and will take you less than 10 minutes. Are you interested in more of these sorts of crafts for entertaining and decorating?
