I guess I should first start this post by addressing the radio silence. There’s truly no grand excuse for my lack of posting the last couple months, it simply comes down to a lack of inspiration and a busy schedule. I know, I know… everyone is busy so I shouldn’t use that as an excuse but the lack of inspiration is real.

Do you ever feel uninspired? Like you know you should be doing something but you just don’t know what or how? Maybe you even question what you’re “meant” to do? That was me last winter and spring. I wasn’t just uninspired with blogging but also in my work. Well, especially in my work. I’ve been in the PR industry now for about 5 years and owned Piqued PR for about 3.5 of those years.

In the past I had always been a “go-getter”, I knew what I wanted and how to get there and would work countless hours to make it happen. Then last winter came and I just froze. I think a fallout with a client and the things she had said got in my head and then I started getting distracted by competitors. I questioned if I really was good at what I did and if I actually enjoyed it and wanted to continue down that path.

Long story short, I took a temporary break from PR. By that I mean I didn’t take on any new clients for a few months and just worked with my existing clients. The biggest curve ball of all…. I enrolled in Temple University’s certificate in Interior Design program and worked a few hours a week for a local interior designer. The mini break allowed me to indulge in my love of design and decorating but most of all reaffirmed my love for my career in PR.

I now am back to chugging away at Piqued PR in the most successful months we have had yet in business, working with some of my favorite businesses and brands. I also decided to refocus on blogging on the side for fun. While I don’t see me doing daily posts any time soon, you can find more regular content now in the coming weeks and months. Think more tablescapes, holiday decorating and even my basement renovation project.

Today though we are starting with a little Thanksgiving table setting because I am so thankful to be recharged again. Everyone knows I’m blue and white obsessed, so the inspiration was my ginger jars which I collect. Mixing something classic and preppy like chinoiserie porcelain with warm fall tones and patterns. The juxtaposition of formal and casual.

I shared this on my Instagram stories the other day but I am loving burgundy this season. It’s such a pretty, rich fall hue and works great on brunettes. I think 70% of what I bought for fall is this pretty color. While these corduroy
